As a school, we have recently received two impressive nationally recognised awards linked with Physical Education and Leadership.
1. Receipt of the Sports Leader UK Leadership Academy Status.
We were visited by Patricia Fairclough OBE, Margaret Peggie OBE and John Gray Foundation Manager (London) representing Sports Leader UK.
John wrote in recognition of our achievement
I would like to congratulate Park High School on becoming the first London based school to be awarded Sports Leaders UK Leadership Academy status. To become a Leadership Academy is a product of a school’s hard work and commitment by both the staff and leaders themselves. The feedback and experiences of leaders at your school really endorses the significance leadership awards have played in not only your school life, but life as a whole. Leadership, as has been perfectly highlighted at Park High School, has a massive impact on the learner, the school and the community at large, embedding vital life skills such as confidence, organisation and social cohesion. The status of Leadership Academy is a beacon status and ensures Park High School is a fine example of best practice in the region. Both the leaders and staff should be very proud to be part of a school with this recognition.
Our response to the success:
"As a school, we are delighted to receive this prestigious award in recognition of the opportunities afforded to every student as they progress though the school. We believe that the skills and qualities developed during these awards will help to shift their disposition towards learning and in turn support them in their journey through life." Neil Darby, Assistant Headteacher
2. We have just received notification from the Youth Sports Trust that as a school we have become a YST Gold Partner. This is an award which recognises the high quality of sport and physical education at Park High School. I have attached below a possible press release document which contains information about the award and a quote from the Education Director at the YST and our Headteacher.
