ICT

 Course Content

This course aims to encourage students to develop a critical understanding of the use of ICT in society. Topics studied include:the use of data;purposes of stored data; the difference between knowledge, information and data; how to use applications software for modelling, communicating, storing and presenting data; the role of networks; ICT structures; the social impact of ICT; the legal, health and safety aspects of ICT; characteristics of standard software, images and graphics software and the use of media and multi-media software in practice. The course is made up of three modules; two 90 minute examination papers and one piece of coursework worth 40% of the total grade.ict



In such a technology driven society, ICT can be applied to almost any chosen career path. The subject combines well with most AS and A level courses and provides opportunities for students.
