Middle School Classroom

In May and June each year, as part of our comprehensive transition programme for Year 7 students moving to high school from our cluster feeder schools, each Year 7 class spends a day at Park experiencing the routines, environment and learning opportunities they will meet when they join the school in September.MIDDLE SCHOOL

Our four cluster middle schools (Priestmead, Kenmore Park, Stanburn and Whitchurch), in rotation, support the Year 7 classes using Park High School facilities and teaching staff. Lessons from our technology college subject areas are delivered, as would a more typical timetabled KS3 lesson in those subjects. Active learning is to the fore; the work is challenging and provides a good insight into the standards we uphold in the school. The Year 7 students rise up well to these challenges.

This work is enhanced and supported by the activities covered during the borough ‘New Intake Day’.   Here, to further familiarise future Park High students with the school, current Year 7 students spend the day with us in July following a special timetable, in the tutor group and teaching groups which will form their new groupings for Year 8.
