Park High students qualify for London Youth Games

On Friday 2nd February four of our Year 9 students took part in the regional final for under 14's badminton at the London Youth Games. The event was held conveniently at Harrow Leisure Centre. Representing the London Borough of Harrow, Park High competed against 12 top schools in London.

The London Youth Games is Europe's largest youth sports festival.  It is now a season of events taking place over 9 months including both School and Community Competitions across 30 different sports. The competitions are part of the national School Games Programme.  School Competitions are organised locally by School Games Organisers, with the London finals hosted by London Youth Games.

Sohan, Muhammed-Hussein, Rikhil and Smit left early for the Leisure Centre. The competition was split into three groups of four with the winner qualifying for the Grand Final, Park knew it would be a tough round. The boys first match was against the college Francias Bilingue from Camden; It was a tight encounter with Park winning 3-2.  The second match was against Chelsea Academy representing Kensington & Chelsea; a relatively comfortable win for our boys at 5-0. The school from Enfield did not attend meaning that Park topped the group.
