On Thursday the 23rd January our Year 10 Food Technology students took part in the Park High Heat of the Rotary Young Chef competition. Students had to plan and make a main course meal suitable for two people with the cost of ingredients not exceeding £6. Our students cooked to a high standard and really impressed our two judges from the Rotary Club. Our winner, Rashina and runner up, Chevanise now go through to the semi-finals on Wednesday 29th January. This will be held at the College of North West London where students will also get the chance to have a tour of the catering department before getting to grips with the facilities. Our two girls will be making a main course and a dessert with costs of ingredients not exceeding £10. As they only have 1 hour and 45 minutes to make and present their dishes they will really get to experience the stress of working in a professional kitchen.
The competition will be judged by the Mayors of Brent, Barnet and Harrow and 2 lucky winners will go through to the London Finals at Westminster Kingsway College.
