UKMT Junior Mathematical Challenge

The United Kingdom Mathematics Trust is a registered charity committed to advancing the education of young people in mathematics. The Junior Mathematical Challenge is a 60-minute, multiple-choice competition aimed at students across the UK. It encourages mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency in using basic mathematical techniques to solve interesting problems. The problems on the Junior Mathematical Challenge are designed to make students think. Most are accessible, yet still challenge those with more experience.

On Monday 29th June nineteen of our Park High year 7 and 8 students participated in the online UK Junior Mathematical Challenge with a great success; Fourteen of which were awarded certificates, 6 Bronze, 6 Silver and 2 Gold.

"I really enjoyed having the opportunity to take part in the Junior Maths Challenge and definitely felt challenged by some of the questions. The challenge was clear, and I think that it only could have been better if we did it in person, due to the current situation, I understand that it is not possible."

"It was fun and it really made me think. I really enjoyed the challenging questions and it helped me test my knowledge"

We are very proud of all the students who took part in the challenge.
