Christmas Concert 2013

Christmas Concert 2013

This year’s Christmas Concert was an evening of fine, festive fun- Park High’s best yet! Our young musicians provided a 150 strong audience with a real variety of musical breadth; from our nationally acclaimed Dhol drummers, to the serene Senior Strings rendition of Bach’s Brandenberg Concert No. 3. We were treated to a Hairspray inspired performance from the Pop Choir, a debut performance from our new Uke Group and our annual show openers the Concert Band. This year’s concert featured a new conductor, Shahid Wahab in year 13, who led our String Ensemble brilliantly in their performance of ‘Sad Sunday. The Guitar Ensemble took us on a journey to Portugal with ‘El Cachimbo’. Our popular RnB band closed the first half with ‘Santa Claus is Coming to Town’. Our new year 7 & 8 singers sang beautifully, with a stunning solo from Grace Bryne. The grand finale item saw all participants performing ‘All I want for Christmas’, finished with a round of applause from our large supportive audience.

A special thanks to the Music Department, Miss Gillot and Mr Bailey. To Miss Leigh for the lighting, Miss Pepperell for the photography and all members of staff that came and supported us on the night. Thank you to Mrs Lambert for expertly serving the mulled wine and mince pies. Finally thank you to all our young musicians, parents and governors for your commitment and support with the evening.

We look forward to our next event The Young Musician of Park on Thursday 13th February.
