In April one of Park High's receptionists, Sherryl Marks, will be running the London Marathon in aid of Grief Encounter, a charity that provides support and counselling to bereaved children. To support her fundraising efforts, the Park High office held a cake sale for the teaching and support staff on Wednesday 5th February.
The staff demolished the cakes within 30 minutes and raised in excess of £275. Sherryl said "I'd like to thank everyone for their generosity and I hope I will be able to run as fast as the staff can eat!!".
This will be Sherryl's 5th marathon and her first in 10 years; her aim is to beat her previous time of 4 hours 3 minutes and to raise as much money as possible for Grief Encounter. To support this aim the school will also be holding a non uniform day in aid of Grief Encounter on 1st April.
