The Number 1 app Flappy Bird has returned.
The most popular game of 2014, Flappy Bird is returning due to the creator announcing that it will be released again on the app store. The app was originally launched in May 2013 and sold nearly £30,000 worth daily at its peak.
Flappy Birds creator Dong Nguyen deleted this popular and addictive app in China from the app store in February. Dong said “His simple life has been ruined”. Due to the death threats and abuse from the fans he infamously removed his app to a huge uproar.
Previously the app had gone global. Park High has also gone flappy frenzy. Sam (9DW) got an amazing score of 102. Paayel (9DW) got a good score 96. Tanisha (9DW) got 47. Ellie (9DW) got 9. But the record holder of the class was of course their wonderful form tutor Mr Walker with a HUGE 146.
Mr Walker; however, has recently admitted “I don’t care about it returning to the app store – unless someone breaks my record I’ll probably never play the game again.’ Khushal revealed: “That it shouldn’t return because it is ruining people’s lives”. Sam, 13, admitted “I am really happy about the return of Flappy Bird”.
After its removal, some I Phones with Flappy Bird pre-installed were selling at £1000 – it is unlikely that the game will be disbanded again.
Since it has been down there have been a lot of ‘knockoffs’ of the game like Splashy Fish, Flappy Rainbow and Flappy Bacon. Nevertheless it seems no one can compete with the original.
So, what’s your high score?
