Park High Crowned Harrow Sports Champions for Second Consecutive Year

We are incredibly proud to share that Park High School has once again been crowned Harrow Schools Sports Champions in both the boys’ and girls’ competitions — marking our second consecutive year of holding both titles. Having also achieved the title in 2023–24, we remain the only school in the borough to have secured the double championship for both boys and girls since the competition began.

Harrow Schools Sports Championships rank the performance of all state schools in the borough across every borough-wide competition. The aim of the championships is to increase sports participation through competitive opportunities, and we are delighted to be leading the way in both performance and engagement.

In the boys’ league, over 70% of Harrow’s schools now offer students opportunities to compete in borough-run sports. We are proud to be one of just three schools achieving 100% coverage, providing our boys with the chance to take part in every sport on offer. In the girls’ league, where national trends show lower participation levels, rates currently stand at 53%. However, we are one of only two schools in Harrow offering full competitive access to girls across all sports, which we believe demonstrates what is possible when passion and opportunity come together.

Following our success against other state schools in Harrow, many of our teams have also taken their talents further afield, competing at regional and national levels. We are thrilled that so many students have now experienced the excitement and challenge of high-level competition.

These achievements have had a positive ripple effect throughout our extra-curricular offer. Our success on the competition field motivates more students to get involved, and the high standards set by our teams carry through into core PE lessons. As more pupils adopt a ‘can-do’ attitude, the entire sporting experience becomes richer, more ambitious, and more inclusive.

This year’s success is a reflection of the hard work, dedication and positive attitude shown by our students. They consistently strive to better themselves, and their achievements are a direct result of their commitment and enthusiasm. Our team of specialist coaches, alongside our dedicated PE department, have supported and inspired our students — many of whom have gone on to join local clubs after discovering new sports through school.

As we look ahead to the next academic year, we are excited by what’s to come. We know that healthy competition within the borough motivates schools to raise standards and encourages more young people to engage in sport. Ultimately, our goal is to foster a lifelong love of physical activity — with enjoyment at the heart of everything we do.
