After four intense and highly competitive rounds of chess, Park High School's first ever House Chess Competition reached its thrilling conclusion. Throughout the tournament, students demonstrated exceptional concentration, strategic thinking, resilience and sportsmanship as they represented their houses with pride.
The competition remained closely contested from the very beginning, with each round producing exciting matches and unexpected results.
As the final day approached, the championship was still wide open, with three of the four houses having a real chance of claiming the title. This created a tense and exciting atmosphere as players battled for every point that could make the difference between victory and defeat.
The final round delivered some outstanding performances, with students showing remarkable composure under pressure. Every game mattered and the determination displayed by all competitors reflected the high standard of chess being played throughout the event.
When the final scores were calculated, it was Regent's Park who emerged as the overall champions of the inaugural House Chess Competition. Their consistency, teamwork and strong individual performances across all four rounds secured a well-deserved victory.
Congratulations to the winning team: Tiya M 8KA, Delina S 8KA, Alson P 8KA, Sami B 9DM and Shavishnu A 9DM.
And a huge well done to Shavishnu, who also ranked as the top individual player across the competition.
Their commitment and skill played a crucial role in Regent's Park success.
A big welll done must also go to all the students who participated and contributed to making the competition such a memorable event. We look forward to seeing the tournament return next year, bigger and stronger than ever.
