World Book Day 4 March

World Book Day is taking place on Thursday 4 March and there will be a plethora of activities for students to get involved in.

Students will receive a digital version book token. The £1 book token can be exchanged for a £1 book (https://www.worldbookday.com/books/) The book token is valid from Thursday 18 February – Sunday 28 March 2021. Participating booksellers will honour the tokens beyond the 28 March while stocks last. Please contact your local bookseller to check if they are able to offer £1 off other titles.

We are delighted to be welcoming author and performance poet Steve Tasane who will be delivering online workshops to Year 7 via Microsoft Teams. Steve has featured at Glastonbury Festival, the 100 club, Latitude and was writer-in-residence for the Dickens Bicentennial Celebrations, and for Battersea Dogs Home. Mr Tasane has visited our learning community before and proved to be a huge hit amongst students and staff.

Students are also encouraged to log on to the Year 7 and 8 English folder in SharePoint, where they will be able to access a wide range of activities and resources.

We look forward to a wonderful celebration of authors, illustrators, books and reflecting on the power of reading.
