What they say about us
Ofsted
Park High School was visited by Ofsted on 8th October 2024, and we were delighted to receive a judgement of ‘Good’ in all areas.
“Pupils, and students in the sixth form, at Park High are welcoming and polite to visitors. They show respect to the adults who work with them and consideration towards each other. They understand and embody the school’s ‘character virtues’ of curiosity, integrity, resilience, teamwork and compassion. They are helped to be the best version of themselves and are expected to achieve well – which most do.”
“Pupils are kept safe. They can identify trusted adults and know who to go to for help if they need it... Staff are effective at helping to resolve any bullying swiftly.”
“Pupils say this is a place where everyone is welcome and included. They are proud of the diversity at the school and how differences are celebrated. Pupils learn about different faiths and cultures through dedicated lessons, tutor time, cultural events and festivals.”
“Pupils are grateful for all the opportunities the school provides for them to develop their confidence, talents and interests. These include music lessons, a range of sporting fixtures and training, team-building activities, and visits to the theatre and museums. There are lots of opportunities to take on responsible roles, such as being ‘character ambassadors’ or reading with younger pupils.”
Challenge Partners
As a school, we work closely with Challenge Partners, a practitioner-led charity that enables collaboration between schools to enhance the life chances of all children, especially the most disadvantaged.
Each year, we undertake a Quality Assurance Review – a rigorous, three-day peer evaluation of teaching and learning, curriculum and outcomes, and leadership at all levels. This review places a strong emphasis on the experiences of pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds or with additional needs.
We were proud to be designated a ‘Leading’ School by Challenge Partners and to receive our third Area of Excellence for our CPD provision, alongside our existing Areas of Excellence in CEIAG and SEND.
“The school is calm, orderly and purposeful. Pupils and adults share strong relationships. In a Year 11 dance lesson, the teacher’s confident and passionate delivery fostered a positive learning environment. Pupils were keen to answer questions related to two musical pieces they had previously explored. During a Year 11 food technology lesson, pupils were preparing a timeline. The established culture for learning supported all pupils to be on task and focused.”
“Staff know pupils well. Leaders ensure that all staff give consideration to the context of pupils. Staff form strong, positive relationships with families, which helps provide valuable information that can be used to tailor personalised support.”
Our commitment to continuous improvement and collaboration ensures we provide the best possible education for all our students.
