A Level Sociology offers an engaging and effective introduction to Sociology. Students will learn the fundamentals of the subject and develop skills valued by higher education (HE) and employers, including critical analysis, independent thinking and research.

Sociology will look more in-depth to the following questions:

  •  Are we products of nature or nurture?
  • How does the hidden hand ofsociety influence our behaviour?
  • Is there such a thing as free will?
  • Is the education system fair?
  • What is the function of the family in modern society?
  • Is the education system fair?
  • Are criminals born or made?
  • Why are women paid less than men?
  • Is religion disappearing or changing?
  • What is the role of the media in society?

Students must achieve at least six 9-4 grades including English Language and Mathematics at GCSE.
