Sixth Form Computer Science trip to IBM

IBM-TRIP

In december some of our sixth-form computer science students embarked on an enriching visit to International Business Machines (IBM) in London, a renowned American computer manufacturer. This exceptional opportunity allowed our students to actively partake in a series of activities, providing firsthand insights into the dynamics of degree apprenticeships. They had the privilege of immersing themselves in the state-of-the-art Innovation Studio and engaging with cutting-edge technology, including an interactive session with the Boston Dynamics robot dog and finally they participated in workshops, showcasing their adept debating skills and collaborative group work.

The students not only relished the experience but were also eager to expressed their perspectives;

Yovan: "The trip was very fun and insightful for me, helping me to realise what a day at working at IBM might look like. I gained a lot of help knowledge and advice from this event, which I will use to help myself in reaching my goals and doing what I want to do."

Adan: "The trip was fun as well as very beneficial as it gave me an insight of how the apprenticeships work for IBM and other companies. It also gave me an idea of how the company works and what the workspace looks like. I think this was one of the best, if not the best trip that we could've gone on."

Malik: "The trip was informative, being able to ask questions about degree apprenticeships was really helpful as it has been hard to find answers for certain question."

Nazaneen: "The experience was very informative about IBM and the application process for apprenticeships."

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Zakeer, a distinguished alumnus of our Park High Computer Science A level class, currently excelling in his degree apprenticeship with IBM, for organising this unique opportunity.
