The 4Ps of Learning

4 Ps logo - prepare for learning, pride in presentation, proactive in lessons and persist after lessons

We are committed to helping every student become a confident and independent learner. The 4Ps of Learning set out the expectations we have of all students to support progress both in and beyond the classroom. This work involves all of us – students, the school, parents and carers.

The 4Ps represent the core habits of an effective learner at Park High:

  • Prepare for Learning – Arrive on time to school and lessons, bring the right equipment, home learning completed to a high standard, and when asked to, pre-read before lessons.
  • Pride in Presentation – Take care with written work, write neatly using blue or black pen, use green pen for corrections, and keep books and loose sheets organised.
  • Proactive in lessons – Participate actively, ask questions, contribute to discussions, and challenge yourself beyond the task.
  • Persist After lessons – Review and revisit learning, check understanding, and create revision materials following our study skills guidance to make learning stick.

If students consistently apply the 4Ps of learning and adopt the attitude needed for continued progress, they will become better learners across all subjects which will lead to positive outcomes and increased future success.
